## 1. Wat is ActiveRecord in de context van Ruby on Rails?

**Antwoord**

ActiveRecord is het ORM-component (Object-Relational Mapping) van Rails dat de M (Model) in het MVC-patroon vertegenwoordigt. Het maakt het mogelijk om databasegegevens als Ruby-objecten te manipuleren door een overeenkomst tot stand te brengen tussen SQL-tabellen en Ruby-klassen, en tussen kolommen en objectattributen.

## 2. Wat is volgens de Rails-conventies de tabelnaam die hoort bij een model met de naam Article?

**Antwoord**

Rails gebruikt een naamgevingsconventie waarbij de naam van het model enkelvoudig en in CamelCase is, terwijl de tabelnaam meervoudig en in snake_case is. Zo komt een Article-model automatisch overeen met een tabel met de naam articles. Door deze conventie kan Rails associaties afleiden zonder expliciete configuratie.

## 3. Welk Rails-commando maakt een nieuw model aan met een migration?

**Antwoord**

Het commando rails generate model (of kortweg rails g model) maakt tegelijkertijd het modelbestand in app/models, het bijbehorende migration-bestand in db/migrate en de testbestanden aan. Hierdoor blijven de databasestructuur en het Ruby-model vanaf het begin gesynchroniseerd.
