ミドルウェアは、受信した HTTP リクエストと Django ビューの間、そしてビューのレスポンスと送信される HTTP レスポンスの間に位置する処理レイヤーです。ミドルウェアはリクエストとレスポンスをグローバルに変更でき、認証、セッション管理、CSRF 保護といった横断的な機能を追加できます。
